AFC 2023+ Personal Trainer of the Year Award

The AFC Personal Trainer of the Year Award recognizes the Personal Trainer who embodies the traits of an excellent role model for personal trainers in Asia. We are seeking someone with a professional demeanour, who delivers quality training practices to a variety of clients, who offers community service and who contributes positively to the growth and development of the industry. Many great prizes will be given to the winner along with the beautiful trophy.

You may apply for yourself if you are eligible based on the criteria below.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Candidates to AFC 2023+ Personal Trainer of the Year Award must:

Have been in the industry for at least 2 years
Spend at least 15 hours per week training clients 1-on-1 or in small group personal training
Have demonstrated exceptional leadership, motivational and instructional skills
Have empowered and inspired your clients to greater personal growth and higher level of function, health, fitness or performance
Be a registered AFC 2023+ delegate.

JUDGING

The judging panel this year will include Fabio Comana who is working to build fitness throughout Asia as the head judge along with 2 other very qualified world-renowned personal trainers. The multi-national judging panel this year thus includes:

FABIO COMANA, an SDSU and NASM Faculty member. He is the original creator of ACE’s IFT™ model and educational workshops.
AMJAD KHAN, Founder & Director of REPS India. Chairman – Global Membership Development – ICREPs, Chairman – International Accreditation For Exercise Educators – ICREPs.
ADAM JONGSMA, a Kinesiologist, Strength Coach and the founder/CEO of the KP Movement Institute in Toronto, Canada.

CRITERIA

Applications will be judged on the following 6 criteria which the judges will assign a score of 1 to 10:

Education
Walk-the-walk (role-model)
Inspirational (impact upon others)
Commitment to Industry
Commitment to Community
Justice, equity, diversity, inclusion (JEDI)

Remark

Each category will be scored using a 1-10 scoring system derived from all submitted materials.
A score of 1 implies the lowest rating, whereas a score of 10 implies the highest rating.
Tally scores for each of the 6 categories for a final assessment score. The top score wins the competition, and the 2nd and 3rd scores get first and second runner-up. All will get great prizes.

A beautiful trophy for WINNER will be awarded on stage at the Saturday Night Party.

- Winner: 5,000 THB
- 1st runner-up: 3,000 THB
- 2nd runner-up: 2,000 THB
1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up will also receive medals and prizes.
Many photo opportunities for your social media including on the AFC Main Stage with AFC Founder and judges.

How long have you been training clients, either one-on-one or in a group?
Why do you believe you are a worthy recipient of this award e.g. how do you positively impact your clients and/or the fitness industry as a whole?
How have you contributed to promoting the fitness industry (includes programming, services, education) as a whole or the professional credibility of the fitness/personal training industry.
How have you participated in community events and outreach programs (e.g. fundraising, awareness campaigns, published articles, interviews, lectures/ demonstrations to the public, etc.)?
How have you helped make the fitness industry more welcoming and inclusive to all?
What certifications and or degrees do you currently hold

Please note that if you make it as a finalist, you must be able to substantiate all the statements made here and provide much more thorough answers in a timely fashion.
